The countdown to the 35th Ikorodu-Oga Festival has officially begun, as the Chairman of the Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Chief Fatai Olayiwola, has called on indigenes, residents and visitors to get ready for another memorable celebration of Ikorodu’s rich culture, unity and heritage.
With the theme “Celebrating Heritage, Inspiring Sustainable Development,” this year’s festival is scheduled for Saturday, November 14 to Saturday, November 21, 2026, with a series of pre-festival activities already lined up from July through November.
Last year’s festival provided unforgettable moments, from the colourful Fanti Carnival to the energetic street jamz, cultural displays, entertainment and other activities that brought Ikorodu alive. This year, expectations are even higher as IKODASS promises another exciting blend of culture, entertainment, sports, education, community development and social activities.
Key Festival Activities
Day 1 – Saturday, Nov. 14: Inter-religious service, Woro procession, heritage performance, Ikorodu-Oga Fan Carnival and Royal White Party.
Day 2 – Sunday, Nov. 15: Market Expo, Royal Banquet, awards, cultural displays and performances.
Day 3 – Monday, Nov. 16: Market Expo, Hair & Fashion Show, Shoe Maker Competition and Boxing Competition.
Day 4 – Tuesday, Nov. 17: Market Expo, Inter-School Debate, Cooking Competition, Miss Ikorodu-Oga Beauty Pageant and Youth Award/Dinner Night.
Day 5 – Wednesday, Nov. 18: Public Service Day, reunion, networking and awards.
Day 6 – Thursday, Nov. 19: Women/Artisan Day, market awards and Oga Ankara Night.
Day 7 – Friday, Nov. 20: Medical Outreach and Community & Transport Day.
Day 8 – Saturday, Nov. 21: Grand Finale featuring club/society celebrations, scholarship and merit awards, achievements awards, clubs get-together and a boat cruise party.
Chief Fatai Olayiwola is therefore urging everyone to mark their calendars, participate actively and make preparations early to be part of the 35th edition.
And for those who want to proudly represent the festival in style, the official Ankara is now available at ₦9,000 for six yards.
