Royal Visits Highlight Ayangburen's 11th Coronation Anniversary, Honouring Distinguished Elders





As part of activities marking his 11th Coronation Anniversary, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, , embarked on special royal visits to honour two revered elders of Ikorodu Kingdom centenarian Alhaji Ashafa Erogbogbo and Ven. Sup. Evang. Oshin of the Celestial Church of Christ, Odongunyan Parish.

The visits, held in collaboration with the Ikorodu Development Association (IKODASS),and Chiefs Forum  reflected the traditional institution's unwavering commitment to celebrating elders whose lives of service, integrity, and dedication have left lasting legacies within the kingdom.

During both engagements, the monarch paid glowing tributes to the honourees, describing them as living symbols of wisdom, resilience, and selfless service. Oba Shotobi also used the opportunity to encourage their children, grandchildren, and family members to preserve the values and noble legacies established by the distinguished elders, stressing that honouring one's heritage remains a vital ingredient for sustaining the progress of Ikorodu.

The royal entourage included the Chairman of IKODASS, Alhaji Fatai Olayiwola, alongside Baales, traditional chiefs, and other palace dignitaries, whose presence further underscored the importance of the initiative.

The event at the Resident of Alhaji Ashafa Etogbogbo and at the Celestial Church of Christ, Odongunyan, also showcased IKODASS' enduring commitment to the welfare, recognition, and celebration of elderly members of the community, reaffirming the forum's belief that the contributions of senior citizens deserve appreciation while they are still alive.

The twin royal visits stood out as memorable highlights of the Ayangburen's 11th Coronation Anniversary celebrations, reinforcing the enduring values of respect, gratitude, and intergenerational unity that continue to define the rich cultural heritage of Ikorodu Kingdom.
