Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area has once again demonstrated its commitment to purposeful governance, as it received the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for an official oversight visit.
The visit, held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Council Secretariat, provided members of the Assembly Committee with the opportunity to assess the council's performance, administrative processes, and ongoing developmental projects.
Leading the reception was the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Otunba) Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (FCA, FCTI), alongside key officials of the council, including Vice Chairman Hon. Adesegun Aluko, Legislative Leader Hon. Jessica Enitan-Oba, Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Rukayat Ibukun Salau, Deputy Leader Hon. Batife Daisi, councillors, supervisors, special advisers, Council Manager Engr. Rotimi Okunowo, heads of departments, and members of staff.
The oversight team, headed by Hon. Okanlawon Sanni (Kosofe I), also comprised Hon. Raouf Age Sulaimon (Amuwo-Odofin), Hon. Tijani Suraj (Ojo I), Hon. Abdulkareem Jubril (Agege II), Hon. Ege Olusegun (Ojo II), Hon. Apata Samuel (Somolu II), and Hon. Orelope (Alimosho II).
During the engagement, the committee carefully reviewed the council's activities, governance structure, and developmental achievements. Following extensive deliberations, the lawmakers expressed satisfaction with the level of progress recorded across various sectors, applauding the administration's commitment to accountability, effective service delivery, and grassroots development.
The successful oversight exercise further reinforces Ikorodu West LCDA's growing reputation as a council focused on transparency, innovation, and people-centred governance. With continued collaboration between the legislature and the local administration, residents can look forward to even greater strides in community development and improved public service delivery.
