The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Otunba Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), FCA, FCTI, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to quality education and youth empowerment with an inspection of two major developmental projects currently underway in the council area.
The inspection tour began in Itowolo, Ward B, where the Chairman visited the construction site of the Model Primary School. Despite the challenging terrain, the visit underscored the administration's determination to ensure that every child, regardless of location, has access to a modern and conducive learning environment.
According to the Chairman, the project goes beyond the construction of classrooms. It represents a long-term investment in the future of the community by providing children with a safe, high-quality educational facility that will be accessible to families without financial burden.
The inspection continued to Ebute, Ward A, where work is progressing on the Vocational Centre and ICT Hub. The facility is expected to become a centre for skills acquisition, digital training, entrepreneurship development, and vocational education, creating opportunities for young people to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the local economy.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Olanrewaju described both projects as key pillars of his administration's vision to transform lives through education and empowerment. He emphasized that true leadership is measured not by political titles but by lasting investments that improve the lives of the people.
The Chairman was accompanied by members of his executive cabinet, led by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Adesegun Aluko, alongside members of the Legislative Arm under the leadership of Hon. Jessica Enitan-Oba. Their presence reflected the collective commitment of the council's leadership to delivering impactful projects for residents.
Residents who witnessed the inspection expressed optimism that the projects, once completed, would significantly improve access to quality education while equipping young people with practical and digital skills needed in today's economy.
