A fast-rising Islamic music artiste, Rasheedat Agbaku, popularly known as Ajike Orin, has taken a significant step toward academic advancement as she resumes school to pursue a degree in Mass Communication.
The young and vibrant singer, admired for her captivating stage presence and sonorous voice, recently gained admission into the National Open University of Nigeria, where she will study for a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication.
Ajike Orin, a mother of one, has continued to grow her reputation within the Islamic music scene, releasing several albums and singles that have earned her a loyal fan base. Despite her promising musical career, the artiste says she is determined to further her education in order to strengthen her communication skills and broaden her career opportunities.
She began her musical journey with her debut album Ope Obi released in 2009, followed by her second album Omo Ologo in 2020. Beyond these albums, she has produced several singles, including Rantimi, Gbatemimo, Igbayilola and Oore Otun.
Her latest single, Rotimi, is set to make waves with a dramatic music video featuring Nollywood actors Asabi Simple and Lagata.
In addition to her albums and singles, Ajike Orin has also created more than 100 occasion jingles for clients both within Nigeria and abroad, demonstrating her versatility and creativity in music production.
Before rising to prominence as a solo artiste, Ajike Orin also worked as a lead backup singer for notable Islamic musicians such as Saoti Arewa and Basit Katibi.
Aside from music, the Ikorodu-born singer also runs a thriving fashion house located in the heart of Ikorodu. The fashion brand reportedly caters to a wide clientele that includes top entertainers and prominent figures in society.
As she combines education, business, and music, Ajike Orin has assured her fans that her upcoming single Rotimi, which tells a true-life story, will further showcase her creativity and take her music career to the next level. She also revealed that a lyric version of the song will soon be released for fans.
