Star actress and businesswoman Lizzy Anjorin has alleged that some individuals are plotting against her following the dismissal of a criminal defamation and breach of peace case instituted against her at an Abuja Magistrate Court.
Anjorin made the allegation while reacting to the ruling of the Magistrate Court, which struck out the case on grounds of lack of jurisdiction, effectively bringing the Abuja proceedings to an end.
“I have to thank Barrister Anthony and Nigeria’s justice system for a job well done. If anything happens to me, hold Iyabo Ojo and Esabod responsible because their plan is to send me to prison and take over my property,” Anjorin said.
The actress expressed appreciation to her legal counsel and described the court’s decision as a vindication, while insisting that the allegations against her were part of a wider plot to damage her reputation and freedom.
Efforts to reach Iyabo Ojo and Esabod for their reactions to the allegations proved abortive as of press time.
Legal analysts noted that with the dismissal of the case, the Abuja proceedings have been concluded, adding that any further legal action on the matter would have to be initiated before a court with the appropriate jurisdiction.
