Petition Against the Unilateral Imposition of Isiaka Bolawa Oladokun as Mogaji of Omoteji Family
We respectfully present this petition to challenge the imposition of Isiaka Bolawa Oladokun as the Mogaji of Omoteji Family.
Historical Background of Mogaji Omoteji Family
The Mogaji title, a time-honoured position, rotates among families forming a clan. After an extended period.
Our family’s historical perspective reveals Omoteji as the initial representative, succeeded by Wintoki, Olatunde, and Oke. Traditionally, a son’s ascension to the Mogaji position after the father’s demise is forbidden, as it can foster discord.
Isiaka Bolawa Oladokun
Current Situation
The last Mogaji from was the father of the presently imposed Mogaji. Tradition dictates a due process for the emergence and installation of Mogaji, requiring collective endorsement by family elders and leaders.
However, Isiaka’s elevation was facilitated by loyalists without proper consultation, violating established traditions.
Intervention and Call to Action
Expressing our dissatisfaction, we implore the Royal Majesty and the Council of Mogaji to declare the position vacant and call Isiaka to order.
We urge a due process to appoint a new Mogaji, collectively endorsed by the original members of Omoteji Family.
We request that the Royal Majesty and the Council of Mogaji caution Isiaka against parading himself as our Mogaji.
Declaration
Any individual claiming to be Mogaji of Omoteji Family without the collective endorsement of family members does not represent us. We emphasize the installation of the right person from the rightful family as Mogaji.
Conclusion
May your reign endure, bringing blessings to Ibadan Land. Àṣẹ!
Thank you.
